Two divers in Blackpool have had their cars seized by police after being caught racing each other right in front of officers.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary stopped the two drivers who were racing each other after driving behind them and recording them breaking the law.

Police said they were ‘too busy racing each other’ to notice the fully marked up BMW police car trailing them.

Both drivers were reported and their cars – a black Skoda Fabia and a red Vauxhall Corsa – were seized.

A spokesman for Lancs Road Police said on Twitter: “The drivers of these two cars in Blackpool were too busy racing each other to notice the fully liveried Police BMW behind them recording their every move.

“Both drivers reported and both cars seized under section 59 due to the manner in which they were being driven.”

A date in court now awaits those behind the wheels.
