Police in Blackpool pinned a man to the floor on New Year’s Eve after he was reportedly kicked out of a town bar.

There was a heavy police presence in the Queen Street area of the resort with revellers out enjoying themselves to see in 2022.

But the night turned sour early on for one individual after being pinned to the pavement by a group of officers.

The man in question could be seen on the floor on Queens Square at around 9.30pm.

Onlookers told LancsLive that the man had been asked to leave Dusk bar prior to the incident.

The same man could then be seen being put in the back of a police van in Queen Street, outside Walkabout bar.

Some five officers could be seen surrounding the man as he was put in the police vehicle.

It is not know if the man was arrested at this stage.

LancsLive has approached Lancashire Constabulary for further information on the incident.
