A man in his 40s has died in hospital after being found collapsed on a street in Blackpool.

A police cordon was put in place down West Street, next to The Mitre pub and Robert’s Oyster Bar, following the discovery on Friday night (May 21).

Pictures from the scene showed a police car blocking the street and police tape around the area.

Lancashire Constabulary was approached by LancsLive on Saturday morning following reports of an assault but received no response.

The force has today (May 24) confirmed the death is being treated as ‘non-suspicious’.

They said a man in his 40s was found collapsed on Friday night. He was taken to hospital but sadly died.

A file will be prepared for the coroner and no arrests have been made.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson said: “The cordon in West Street was a non suspicious death.

“A man in his 40s found collapsed on Friday and taken to hospital but sadly died.”
