Four fire engines have rushed to a fire outside a hotel in Blackpool.

The blaze involves a bin compound on Lord Street and emergency services were called just before noon today (January 14).

According to witnesses, the bin compound reportedly belongs to Trades Hotel.

Firefighters attended as there was a risk of the blaze spreading to a commercial building.

They extinguished the blaze and are checking the building for any damage.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire could be seen billowing smoke up into the sky and was visible from the other side of the town.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to an incident on Lord Street in Blackpool.

“There is a bin compound on fire next to a property.

“There was a risk of spreading to a commercial building. We were called 36 minutes ago.

“We have got four fire engines there.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire in the compound and are checking the building now.”
