Gary Barlow channelled his own song ‘Incredible’ on a trip to Blackpool at the weekend.

The Take That frontman, and now solo artist, enjoyed a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the tower, the circus and enjoyed a quick look inside the newly-renovated Tower Ballroom.

The singer has a long history with the resort, most recently playing intimate shows at Blackpool Opera House and, in 2013, stepping in to perform at the Illuminations switch on. He said at the time that he is ‘very fond’ of Blackpool.

The Visit Blackpool page said he had an ‘incredible, absolutely unforgettable’ visit, which quotes his recent solo song Incredible.

Barlow wore a blue cap, sunglasses and was beardier than usual on his visit, leading one fan to suggest he had disguised himself.

One of the things he will have enjoyed most is seeing Blackpool Tower ballroom following its £1.1m refurbishment.

Although people will have to wait longer to step back out onto the dancefloor after restrictions were confirmed to be extended by at least a month yesterday, more than 21,000 hours over six hours has gone into the renovations.

The last 12 months has marked the longest period of time the venue has been closed since 1957, when a fire cost £500,000 and took two years to repair.

Gary Barlow takes the Music Played By Humans tour out in December 2021 with Leona Lewis confirmed as a support act.

There is no Blackpool show confirmed this time around, although he will be performing in Manchester and Liverpool.
