The iconic girl group The Nolans who formed in Blackpool in the 1970s are set to perform on stage together for the first time in 43 years.

Coleen, Anne, Maureen, Linda and Denise are set to reunite for a second series of their show Nolans Go Cruising.

The reunion comes amid Linda’s ongoing cancer battle.

The 62-year-old underwent chemotherapy at Blackpool Victoria Hospital along with her sister Anne last year and has praised her hometown community for their support after going public about her cancer returning

The Nolan sisters, who took part in the first series without sister Denise, will all take part in the coming series and perform again as a group for the first time in four decades.

The announcement comes after the Nolans planted a tree to mark the eighth anniversary of their late sister Bernie’s death, after she died of secondary breast cancer in 2013 aged just 53.

Anne’s secondary breast cancer was cleared up by chemotherapy.

Linda, whose condition is now incurable, told the Mirror: “We had so much fun on our last trip and it’s great all five of us are doing it this time around!”

Offering an update on her treatment, she said: “I have a CT scan coming up and after that, I’ll get the results from my oncologist.

“Every time, I worry if it’s spread again. I’m scared of dying. There’s so much to live for. You realise that when you’ve been through all that I have. Every day is a gift.”

Coleen said: “I can’t wait to be setting sail with my sisters again, letting our hair down and exploring the UK coast together.”

Last month, Maureen revealed she’ll be stepping in for her sister Linda to perform in the musical Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun will kick off in Telford, Shropshire, in September and includes some classic female-first anthems including the Cyndi Lauper hit it’s named after.

The song list also includes the Nolan Sister’s own much-loved tune I’m in the Mood For Dancing.

Of Maureen’s selfess decision to fill in for her, Linda said: ‘I’m gutted that I can’t do the tour. I was really excited but I know Maureen will do an amazing job. I’ll be cheering her on in the wings.’
