The World Fireworks Championship 2021 is set to go ahead in Blackpool.

The event, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, will see countries battle it out in the skies to be crowned world champions.

This year, the displays will take place over the beach in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower.

Russia is set to compete on September 11, Ireland on September 25, Germany on October 9 and the winners ceremony will take place on October 23.

The event starts from 7.30pm, with the first fireworks firing from approximately 8:00pm-8.30pm.

However, all displays subject to suitable weather conditions.

Due to crowds gathering in the area, it may mean that traffic is delayed.
