Blackpool’s brand new three floor music venue opening in November

Plenty of hard work has gone into refitting a new balcony, removing rotten window frames and replacing old structures so the former Whippet Inn building can welcome new customers.

Blackpool is set to get a brand new live music venue soon which will host live entertainment from all around the UK.

Sherlock’s on Queen Street is set to open on Friday, November 5 with its launch night having a very special performance from drag act and Britain’s Got Talent star Danny Beard.

Manchester’s Dan Walker will also be DJing throughout the night along with a special appearance from a mystery guest.

Sherlock’s will also be host to the official Blackpool Pride after party.

The three floor venue is where the infamous gay-friendly bar The Whippet Inn used to be.

It has has been taken over by the owners of the former LGBT bar, Eden Bar, on Sherlock Street in Birmingham after that venue closed down during the pandemic.

Owner Cal Eden is currently back in the city hosting Birmingham Pride and is excited to open after purchasing this new bar with business partner Garry Prentice in January 2019.

Refurbishment was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but now the venue will finally be able to open in a prominent spot in the town’s main bar circuit.

After gaining permission from Blackpool Council in August 2020, the premises now has a new sign, complete with a silhouette of Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective, Sherlock Holmes.
