“I still haven’t heard from them so, if it was something really serious I’d be panicking now as I’ve really tried to get through and I just can’t”

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has hit out at her GP practice over a failure to respond despite trying to get in contact “all day”.

The 56-year-old, who was born and raised in Blackpool, shared her frustrations with fellow panellists Carol McGiffin, Charlene White, Brenda Edwards during a discussion about ‘putting off seeking help with your health’.

Coleen said: “I still haven’t heard from them so, if it was something really serious I’d be panicking now as I’ve really tried to get through and I just can’t.”

The vocalist’s family have tragically been devastated by cancer in recent years with sister Bernie passing away in 2013 and fellow sibling Linda now terminally ill.

Carol told the ITV show on Monday that she made sure her health was a number one priority after a survey found many women don’t put their own health first when it comes going to see a doctor.

Coleen then admitted that she would have been “one of the women” in the survey.

While she always encourages both her children and friends to seek help if they’re feeling unwell, she confessed she is guilty of not following her own advice.

The former Dancing on Ice contestant revealed that when she actually did try and get in touch with her GP last week she wasn’t able to, despite continued efforts, adding that she still hadn’t heard back.

She told the panel: “Because I was getting from everybody about going to see the doctor, I tried all day last week to get in touch with my doctor.

“I couldn’t get through on the phone and then I had to leave a message then it was ‘if your message is important we’ll get in touch with you.’

“Then they said email so I had to put it in an email and it said ‘all emails will be replied to within 24 hours and I still haven’t heard from them so, if it was something really serious I’d be panicking now as I’ve really tried to get through and I just can’t.”

“So now I think well I can’t be bothered now.”

Carol then replied: “There are a lot of people saying that.”
