Blackpool attempted murder update as nine men from London released under investigation

A man was left in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed multiple times outside of a nightclub in Blackpool

Nine men who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released under investigation.

The arrests and now subsequent release comes after a man has been stabbed multiple times outside of a bar in Blackpool.

The incident took place outside Ma Kelly’s in Talbot Road in the early hours of Wednesday (September 29). Police were called to reports of a fight.

During the incident, a 19-year-old from the town suffered a number of stab wounds and was taken to hospital. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Nine men, aged between 19 and 36 from London, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in custody.

They have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries, police have confirmed.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.

Det Insp Abi Finch-Hall, of Blackpool CID, said: “This incident has left a young man with some serious injuries and while we have made a number of arrests our enquiries are very much ongoing. I would appeal for anyone who has any information or who witnessed the incident itself to come forward and speak to us.”
