Smash hit musical Jersey Boys will be heading to Blackpool on its UK and Ireland tour, it has been confirmed.

Much to the delight of fans, the beloved show, which has won Tony, Grammy and Olivier Awards will be heading to the Opera House in Blackpool this summer.

The musical follows the storyline of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, who where four guys from New Jersey that sang their very first note which changed their lives.

But while their harmonies were perfect onstage, off stage it was a very different story.

The show is packed with their hits, including Beggin’, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, December, 1963 (Oh What a Night), Big Girls Don’t Cry, My Eyes Adored You, Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got), Bye Bye Baby, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Working My Way Back to You, Fallen Angel, Rag Doll and Who Loves You.

The musical, which will be heading to the Opera House in 2022 from Tuesday, August 16 – 27, is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe.

Originally opening in New York in November 2005, it was the 12th longest running show in Broadway history when it closed in January 2017.

The Jersey Boys UK and Ireland Tour will be staged by the entire original Broadway creative team.

It will be led by the Tony Award-winning team of director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo, with scenic design by Klara Zieglerova, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Steve Canyon Kennedy and projections design by Michael Clark.

The orchestrations are by Steve Orich and the music supervision and vocal arrangements by Ron Melrose.

Casting is yet to be announced for the tour.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 21 at 10am and can be purchased from wintergardensblackpool.co.uk.
