Two cars were badly damaged in a crash at a notorious accident hotspot.

Emergency services attended on Friday night when the cars collided at Norcross Roundabout near Thornton-Cleveleys.

Pictures taken in the aftermath of the car showed extensive damage and airbags deployed in both vehicles.

An appeal for witnesses or information is now under way.

Writing on the Thornton Cleveleys and Poulton Police Facebook page, a representative for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We have just attended a Road Traffic Collision on Amounderness Way at Norcross Roundabout. If you or anybody you know has dash cam footage or were a witness to the collision please get in touch on 101 or online and quote log number LC-20211119-1430.

“Thank you Blackpool North Neighbourhood Policing Team.”

Last year, the roundabout was ranked as the second most dangerous in Lancashire according to official government statistics from the Department for Transport.
