A Blackpool road will close for five days after a water leak was discovered.

Blackpool Council is warning motorists of diversions on St Anne’s Road as urgent repairs will need to take place.

The leak was discovered in the road at the junction of St Anne’s Road anbd Squires Gate Lane (at Halfway House).

The road will be closed in both directions at the junction and closed to incoming traffic from Squires Gate Lane from tomorrow (May 10) for approximately five days.

A statement from the council said: “United Utilities have discovered a water leak in the road at the junction of St Anne’s Road and Squires Gate Lane (at Halfway House) and have to carry out some urgent repairs.

“St Anne’s Road will be closed at the junction in both directions and closed to incoming traffic from Squires Gate Lane from Monday 10 May for approx. 5 days. Diversions signs will be in place and we’ll work closely with UU for a swift re-opening. Apologies for any inconvenience.”
