Here is the latest round-up of incidents that crews from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have tackled on the Fylde coast this week.

 

MONDAY, DECEMBER 13

– Road traffic collision in Poulton-le-Fylde

Two fire engines from Blackpool attended a road traffic collision in Normoss Road at around 1am.

The incident involved one vehicle.

Firefighters used a hearth kit and worked to make the scene safe.

No injuries were reported.

Crews were in attendance for around 15 minutes.

– Commercial building fire in Blackpool

Four fire engines from Blackpool, South Shore, and Bispham attended a commercial building fire in Mansfield Road at around 3.45am.

The incident involved an industrial oven inside a commercial property.

Firefighters used a hearth kit, a thermal imaging camera, a fog spike, and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

They remained in attendance for around one and a half hours.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14

– Road traffic collision in Blackpool

Two fire engines from Blackpool and Bispham attended a road traffic collision in Plymouth Road at around 2.05pm.

The incident involved two vehicles.

Two casualties received medical attention before being placed in the care of paramedics.

Firefighters used a trauma pack at this incident.

They were in attendance for 45 minutes.

– Domestic building fire in Blackpool

Three fire engines from Blackpool and South Shore attended a domestic building fire in Haig Road at around 4.15pm.

The incident involved a domestic property.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

They were in attendance for approximately 55 minutes.

– Vehicle fire in Blackpool

One fire engine from Bispham attended a vehicle fire in Starbeck Avenue at around 11.30pm.

The incident involved one vehicle that was well alight on the roadway when crews arrived.

Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the flames.

They were in attendance for half an hour.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was launched.

– Road traffic collision in Blackpool

Two fire engines from Blackpool attended a road traffic collision in Staining Road at around 11.30pm.

The incident involved two vehicles.

Firefighters used low pressure airbags, step blocks, and lighting to release one casualty.

The individual was then placed in the care of paramedics.

Crews were in attendance for approximately 20 minutes.

– Road traffic collision in Kirkham

Four fire engines from Wesham, Penwortham, Chorley, and Bamber Bridge attended a road traffic collision in Clegg Street at around 11.40pm.

The incident involved a heavy goods vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters worked to make the scene safe.

They were in attendance for approximately an hour.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15

– Rescue of person in Poulton-le-Fylde

One fire engine from Blackpool attended a rescue of a person in Carr Head Lane at around 10.50am.

The incident involved one casualty who had become stuck in some vegetation.

Firefighters used spreaders and soft protection equipment to extricate the casualty.

They were in attendance for 15 minutes.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16

– Road traffic collision in Preesall

Two fire engines from Preesall and Bispham attended a two-vehicle collision in Head Dyke Lane at around 5.50pm.

Firefighters released two casualties from the vehicles.

They were then taken to hospital by ambulance, the fire service said.
