Here is the latest round-up of incidents that crews from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have tackled on the Fylde coast this week.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29

– Investigation launched after car bursts into flames in Blackpool

One fire engine from Blackpool was called to extinguish the car in Brooklyn Avenue at around 4.30am on Monday (November 29).

Firefighters equipped with one breathing apparatus used two hose reels to douse the flames.

No injuries were reported, the fire service said.

An investigation into the cause was opened, it added.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1

– Kitchen fire in Preesall

Two fire engines from Preesall and Bispham were called to a kitchen fire at a house on Sandicroft Avenue at around 7.10pm.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported.

– Road traffic collision in Singleton

Two fire engines from Blackpool attended a two-vehicle collision in Mains Lane at around 7.40pm.

One casualty received treatment from crews before being placed in the care of ambulance personnel.

Firefighters used a trauma pack before working to make the scene safe.

They were in attendance for one and a half hours.

– One person rescued after fire breaks out in kitchen of Blackpool home

Three fire engines from Blackpool and Bispham rushed to the home in Shenstone Road shortly after 11.55pm on Wednesday (December 1).

One casualty was rescued from the building and received treatment from fire crews and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) personnel.

Firefighters equipped with four breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the flames.

Crews were in attendance for around one hour, the fire service said.

An investigation into the cause of the kitchen fire was opened, it added.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2

– Fire breaks out in front room of home in Thornton

Two fire engines from Bispham and Fleetwood attended the property in Mill Close at around 10.30pm on Thursday (December 2).

Firefighters equipped with two breathing apparatus used one hose reel and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the flames.

An investigation into the cause was opened, the fire service said.

Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and 40 minutes.

– Fire breaks out in first floor flat in Blackpool

Two fire engines from Blackpool attended the flat in Peter Street at around 11.40pm on Thursday, December 2.

The fire involved a first floor flat approximately 5x10m in size.

Firefighters equipped with two breathing apparatus used one positive pressure ventilation unit, a hearth kit, lighting, and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames.

One casualty received precautionary checks.

Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.
